What is Advanced-Practice Bodywork?
Advanced-Practice Bodywork (APB) sessions are specifically geared toward the relief of body pain issues, and go beyond a standard massage therapy session toward the realm of holistic medical treatment. Advanced-Practice Bodywork with Dr. Dana includes a review of your medical history pertaining to your specific musculo-skeletal problem, a recommended treatment plan with a focus on a series of bodywork sessions, along with a comprehensive plan of, and instruction for, self-care between bodywork sessions, with the goal of regaining optimal health.
How do I know if I need APB?
Below, is a list of some of the body conditions commonly treated with APB by Dr. Dana Lapointe, Naturopathic Physician and 22 year veteran Licensed Masage Therapist. What do I need to bring to my first APB appointment?
Cancellation Policy for APB:
Your appointment is important. Realize that Dr. Dana has made a commitment to you to guarantee your appointment and has turned away all other requests for that time. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please be kind enough to do so, a minimum of 24 hours in advance. More notice is appreciated whenever possible to accommodate other patients that may be waiting for an appointment. Please note that it is Dr. Dana’s policy that last minute cancellations and missed appointments are paid for in full, with the only exception being a true and verifiable emergency.

- head pain, including migraines and TMJD
- neck pain and/ or limited motion
- shoulder pain, rotator cuff injury and limited range of shoulder motion
- tendonitis, bursitis
- repetitive motion/ repetitive strain injuries
- weak or painful grip
- upper back pain
- lower back pain, buttock pain and sciatic nerve pain
- knee, leg, ankle and foot pain, including Plantar Fasciitis
- restless leg syndrome
- sports injuries
- older and more recent injuries
- pain and dysfunction associated with hypermobile joints, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and postural imbalances
What do I need to bring to my first APB appointment?
- It is best to wear or bring yoga type clothes, tank top or sports bra, and lycra-type shorts to your APB sessions.
- It is preferable to fax your intake paperwork back to Dr. Dana at least 24 hours before your first visit in order to maximize the treatment time on the first visit. If you have not already faxed it in, be sure to bring your fully completed intake paperwork with you to your first session.

APB Pricing:
- Initial Intake Appointment (required first): $165 (90 minutes)
- Follow-Up Appointment: $105 (one hour)
- Extended Follow-Up Appointment: by Dr. Dana’s recommendation only ~ $190 (2 hours)
